ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE MEN'S BASKETBALL Etown Swamps Bowdoin, 94-58, in Opening Round of Springfield (MA) Naismith Classic; Blue Jays To Play in Tournament Championship Sunday SPRINGFIELD, Mass. --- Elizabethtown took advantage of an early second half surge to overrun Bowdoin College (ME) 94-58 in the opening round the Springfield College (MA) Naismith Classic Saturday night. The Blue Jays improve to 6-4 overall with the win, and will advance to the tournament's championship game Sunday at 7:30 p.m. against the winner of tonight's Springfield/Bridgewater State (MA) game. Bowdoin drops to 4-3 overall with the loss. Etown took a 42-32 lead into halftime, and Bowdoin scored the first three points of the second half to cut Etown's lead to seven, 42-35. From there, a 17-4 Etown run buried Bowdoin and put the Blue Jays up 59-39 with 14:33 to go. Etown continued to stretch its lead for the remainder of the game. Kyle Conrad (Shillington, PA/Governor Mifflin) was Etown's top scorer, shooting six-for-seven from the field, five-for-five from three point range, and two-for-two from downtown. Jon Connor (Hershey, PA/Hershey) added 14 points on six-for-nine shooting from the field and a two-for-five performance from downtown, and he led Etown in steals with seven and in assists with three. Greg Adams (Lebanon, PA/Lebanon) also scored 14 points for Etown, going six-for-eight from the field and two-for-three from the charity stripe. Bowdoin's top scorer was T.J.
