ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE MEN'S BASKETBALL Etown Gets First Conference Win of Season, Scrapes Past Juniata 87-83 HUNTINGDON, Pa. --- Elizabethtown picked up its first Commonwealth Conference victory of the 2003-04 season in heart-stopping fashion Tuesday night, scraping past Juniata College 87-83 to improve to 9-4 overall and 1-2 in the conference. Juniata drops to 6-6 overall and 0-3 in the conference with the loss. Kyle Conrad (Shillington, PA/Governor Mifflin) was Etown's top scorer with 19 points, and he went 7-for-11 from the field and 4-for-5 from three-point range. Fellow junior guard Jon Connor (Hershey, PA/Hershey) scored 15 points and also hit four three-pointers on the evening. Ian Daecher (Lititz, PA/Warwick) added 12 points on five-for-eight shooting from the field and led Etown in rebounds with 11 and in steals with four. Dan Keane (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin East) scored 10 points as well for the Blue Jays. Craig Biller led Juniata in scoring with 19 points, and three other Eagles hit double figures as well. Chris Jacotta had 16 points, Travis Martin had 13 points and led Juniata in rebounds with six, and Travis Boyd scored 11 points. In all, 49 of Juniata's 83 points came from off the bench, as opposed to just 24 of Etown's 87 points. Both teams struggled at the free throw line throughout the evening as Juniata made just 19 of 34 attempts (55.9%), while Etown converted only 16 of 27 attempts (59.3%).
