ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE MEN'S BASKETBALL
Elizabethtown Falls 65-62 to Lebanon Valley
ANNVILLE, Pa. --- Elizabethtown dropped to 13-7 overall and 5-5 in the Commonwealth Conference with a 65-62 road loss to Lebanon Valley Saturday. Lebanon Valley improves to 10-11 overall and 4-6 in the conference with the win.
Lebanon Valley carried a 33-27 lead into halftime as Etown shot 27% (10-for-37) from the field in the first half and 31% (22-for-71) from the field for the game. The Blue Jays converted 13 of 21 (61.9%) free throw attempts for the game and went 6-for-12 (50%) from the free throw line in the second half. Lebanon Valley hit 24 of 29 (82.8%) free throws and out-rebounded Etown 46-43.
Luke Ledyard (Frederick MD/Gov. Thomas Johnson) led Etown in scoring with 12 points from off the bench, and he pulled down seven rebounds. Ledyard shot 6-for-10 from the field for Etown. Greg Brizek (Sinking Spring, PA/Conrad Weiser) added 10 points and five rebounds for the Blue Jays, and he led the team in assists with five. Brad Schreiber (Mechanicsburg, PA/East Pennsboro) led Etown in rebounds with 10.
Dave Kasyan (Point Pleasant, NJ/Toms River East) led Lebanon Valley in scoring with 19 points and in rebounds with 12, six of which were offensive. Hunter Brentschneider (Washington Crossing, PA/Council Rock North) added 14 points and four rebounds for LVC, and Jimmy Curran (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic) added 11 points and seven rebounds. Dan Hodge (Camp Hill, PA/Cedar Cliff) scored 10 points from off the bench and went 8-for-11 from the free throw line for the Flying Dutchmen.
Elizabethtown will return to action in a Commonwealth Conference game on the road Wednesday, February 8 against Juniata College at 7:30 p.m.
