ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE MEN'S BASKETBALL Lycoming Holds Off Elizabethtown, 56-54 ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Eric Anthony hit the go-ahead three-pointer with 1:56 left in regulation to give Lycoming College a 56-54 victory over Elizabethtown College in Commonwealth Conference men's basketball action on Tuesday night. Anthony's three-pointer closed out the scoring in the contest, as the Blue Jays missed their final three field-goal attempts including a potential game-winning three-pointer with two seconds remaining. Senior Mike Schatzmann (Paradise, PA/Pequea Valley) led the Blue Jays (15-8 overall, 2-7 Commonwealth) with 13 points and six rebounds, while sophomore Mike Church (Peach Bottom, PA/Solanco) added 12 points, six rebounds and six steals, but Elizabethtown shot 29.7 percent (19-for-64) from the field in the contest. David Wilson paced the Warriors (16-8 overall, 7-2 Commonwealth) with a game-high 15 points as Lycoming clinched the top seed in next week's Commonwealth Conference playoffs. Elizabethtown scored the game's first 10 points, but the Warriors fought back with the next nine points to trail 10-9 with 15:25 left in the first half. The Warriors led 30-28 at halftime despite committing 19 of their 29 turnovers in the opening half. The second half featured 10 lead changes and eight ties, with Lycoming taking the largest lead for either team at 51-47 on a three-pointer by Anthony with 6:42 left. Elizabethtown took its final lead of the night at 54-53 on a layup by sophomore Josh Houseal (Landisville, PA/Penn Manor) with 3:03 to go, but Anthony gave the Warriors the lead for good with his third three-pointer of the contest. Houseal finished with nine points and four rebounds in 24 minutes off the Elizabethtown bench, as the Blue Jay reserves outscored Lycoming's substitutes by a 19-6 margin.
