UNDEFEATED LEBANON VALLEY HANDS ETOWN FIRST COMMONWEALTH LEAGUE LOSS, 78-61
ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Steven Horst scored 15 points and Dan Pfeil added 14 points and 13 rebounds as nationally-ranked Lebanon Valley stayed unbeaten with a 68-61 win over Elizabethtown in MAC Commonwealth League action on Wednesday. With the loss, the Blue Jays fell to 9-3 overall and 3-1 in the league.
A.J. Beamer (New Holland, Pa./Garden Spot) tied a career high with 21 points to pace the Etown attack while Adam Weber (Stroudsburg, Pa./Pocono Mountain) added 20 points and a team-high six rebounds in the losing effort. The Blue Jay defense held Lebanon Valley All-American Andy Panko to seven points and six rebounds, by far his lowest output of the season.
Dan Strobeck scored 13 points and Ross Young added 11 for Lebanon Valley (11-0, 4-0), which entered the game ranked 2nd in Division III by Columbus Multimedia. The Dutchmen held a 40-27 rebounding edge over Etown on the night.
The Blue Jays return to action on Saturday,
January 16 at home in a key MAC Commonwealth League matchup with Albright
College. Game time is 4 p.m.
