BLUE JAYS FALL TO NATIONALLY-RANKED LEBANON VALLEY, 84-67; BEAMER SCORES CAREER-HIGH 22 POINTS IN LOSS

ANNVILLE, Pa. --- Andy Panko scored a game-high 31 points and added seven rebounds to lead Lebanon Valley to an 84-67 win over Elizabethtown in MAC Commonwealth League action on Wednesday.  With the loss, the Blue Jays fell to 12-9 on the season and 6-5 in the league.

A.J. Beamer (New Holland, Pa./Garden Spot) scored a career-high 22 points, including 17 in the first half, to lead the Etown effort while Adam Weber (Stroudsburg, Pa./Pocono Mountain) and Mark Sweet (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) added 16 points apiece in the Jays' fifth straight loss.

Lebanon Valley led 41-26 with 4:17 remaining in the first half, but Etown fought back to pull within 49-41 heading into the locker room.

A three-pointer from Kevin Cristofoletti (Kendall Park, N.J./Notre Dame) and a jumper from Weber cut the Dutchmen lead to 49-46 in the first two minutes of the second half, but went on a 12-3 run to take a 61-49 lead with 14:06 left.  The Blue Jays could get no closer than ten points the rest of the way.

Brian Schmoyer (Birdsboro, Pa./Daniel Boone) led the Blue Jays with six assists while Sweet pulled down a team-best nine rebounds.  Etown shot 22-for-60 (36.7 percent) from the field on the evening and only 3-for-17 (17.6 percent) from three-point range.

The Blue Jays return to action on Saturday, February 13 at Albright College.  Game time is 8 p.m.
