BLUE JAYS BREAK FIVE-GAME LOSING STREAK WITH KEY 72-66 WIN OVER ALBRIGHT; WEBER'S 19 POINTS LEAD ETOWN EFFORT
READING, Pa. --- Adam Weber scored 19 points and Mark Sweet added 17 points and eight rebounds to help Elizabethtown break a five-game losing streak with a 72-66 win over Albright in MAC Commonwealth League action on Saturday. With the win, the Blue Jays improved to 13-9 (7-5 MAC Commonwealth League) and kept alive their hopes of finishing second in the league and hosting a first-round playoff game.
Kevin Cristofoletti also scored in double figures for Etown with ten points while A.J. Beamer chipped in with eight points and a team-high ten rebounds.
Shawn Swavely scored a game-high 25 points for Albright, which shot only 23-for-71 (32.3 percent) from the floor on the night. James Drewry added 18 points as the Lions fell to 15-7 (8-4 MAC Commonwealth League).
Sweet scored 13 of his 17 points on 6-for-9 shooting in the first half as the teams entered the locker room tied at 37. Weber poured in 16 of his 19 points after halftime, including a game-clinching three-pointer in the game's final minutes.
Etown, which could still finish anywhere
from second to fifth in the MAC Commonwealth League, opens its final week
of regular season action on Tuesday, February 16 at home against Juniata
College. Game time is 7 p.m.
