BLUE JAYS SHOCK LEBANON VALLEY WITH 75-59 WIN

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown sent a message to the rest of the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Wednesday night not to count it out of the playoff hunt yet, as the Blue Jays blasted second place Lebanon Valley in a 75-59 win. The win makes Elizabethtown 3-5 in the conference and 9-8 overall, while the Flying Dutchmen sink to 5-3 in the MAC Commonwealth and 9-8 overall.

Elizabethtown got ahead early, taking a 30-20 lead into halftime from which Lebanon Valley never recovered. The Blue Jays' lead at one point reached 30 points in the second half.

Chris Sattele (Palmyra, PA/Palmyra) was Elizabethtown's high scorer with 19 points. Ross Unruh (Cocalico, PA/Cocalico) added 11 points to Etown's total, while Bob Porambo (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) scored ten and led the team with seven rebounds and two blocked shots. Rocky Parise (Harrisburg, PA/Bishop McDevitt) had five assists for Etown.

Steve Horst (Pine Grove, PA/Pine Grove) led Lebanon Valley with 21 points, and Dan Pfeil (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville) scored 16 and led the team with seven rebounds.

Elizabethtown's next test in its chase of a conference playoff spot comes against powerhouse Albright, which defeated Etown by only three points in overtime earlier this season, Saturday, January 29, at home. Game time is 2:00 p.m.
