WIDENER DOWNS ETOWN, 91-63

CHESTER, Pa. --- With a 91-63 road loss to Widener Wednesday, Elizabethtown stands at 4-7 in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth competition and 11-10 overall.

Widener roared out of the starting gate, shooting 69.7% from the field and outscoring Etown 56-27 in the first half. The Blue Jays could not come back from the 29 point halftime deficit, although Elizabethtown did manage to outscore Widener 36-35 in the second half.

Brian Loftus (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks West) led the Blue Jays with a career high 13 points, and Brian Marquette (Lebanon, PA/Cedar Crest) and Ross Unruh (Denver, PA/Cocalico) each added 10 points for Elizabethtown. Matt Nikoloff (Grove City, PA/Grove City) led Elizabethtown with six rebounds.

Widener's scoring was led by Frank DeLuca, who totaled 22 points with 17 scored in the first half. Shaun Waples totaled a team-high 10 rebounds for the Pioneers.

Etown returns to action at home against Susquehanna Saturday, February 12.
