ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE MEN'S LACROSSE Etown Downs Neumann, 14-2, Improves to 3-1 in 2002 ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown improved to 3-1 overall in 2002 with a 14-2 win over Neumann (0-2) in a non-conference game. Spearheaded by sophomores Chris McCrea (Broomall, PA/Marple Newtown), Mike DiBartolomeo (West Chester, PA/Henderson) and Jason Wolensky (Rosemont, PA/Radnor), the Blue Jays' stifling defense allowed just 13 Neumann shots the entire game. Brian Burke (Upper Darby, PA/Haverford) made six saves and allowed just two goals in 48 minutes in the Etown net, and Chris Swierczek (Media, PA/Penncrest) made one save and three ground balls in 12 minutes in the goal with no goals allowed. Matt Seiboth (Havertown, PA/Haverford) scored two Etown goals and led the team in assists with four and points with six. Matt Newell (Malvern, PA/Great Valley) scored three goals and had three assists for six points as well, and Tom Welch (West Chester, PA/West Chester East) scored two goals for the Blue Jays as well. Mike Dunn (Upper Darby, PA/Monsignor Bonner) led Etown with six ground balls, and he scored one goal and had one assist. Dunn was also won 10 out of 12 faceoffs. Ryan Erdman (Fallston, MD/John Carroll) scored both of Neumann's goals. The Blue Jays will return to action on the road Wednesday, March 26 at 3:30 p.m. against Middle Atlantic Conference rival Messiah. At Elizabethtown, Pa.
