Elizabethtown Snaps Losing Streak with 11-3 Conference Blowout of King's

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown ended a three-game losing streak with an 11-3 blowout of King's in a Middle Atlantic Conference contest at home Friday. The Blue Jays improved to 4-4 overall and 2-2 in the conference with the win, while King's dropped to 2-6 overall and 0-5 in the MAC.

Etown scored nine of its goals and allowed just one King's goal in the first half. Etown out-shot King's 41-8, and the Blue Jays held a 50-28 advantage in ground balls.

Matt Newell (Malvern, PA/Great Valley) led Etown in scoring with three goals, and Matt Seiboth (Havertown, PA/Haverford) led the Blue Jays in assists with four while adding a goal of his own. Allen Churchman (Aston, PA/Garnet Valley) scored two goals and had two assists and six ground balls.

Justin Griffey (Aberdeen, MD/Aberdeen) and Ryan Smetana (Conowingo, MD/John Carroll) each scored two goals, and Tom Welch (West Chester, PA/West Chester East) added a single goal. Brian Ginter (Newtown, PA/Marple Newtown), Adam Eddinger (Bally, PA/Boyertown) and Ryan Leister (Bally, PA/Boyertown) each chalked up an assist for Etown. Mike Dunn (Upper Darby, PA/Monsignor Bonner) led the Blue Jays in ground balls with seven.

John Matusiewicz (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater) led King's with two goals scored.

Etown will return to action in a MAC game at home against Widener at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 9.
