Etown Defeats MAC Rival Lycoming, 9-7, Sets Program Win Record

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. --- Elizabethtown improved to 6-6 overall and 4-3 in the Middle Atlantic Conference with a 9-7 road win over Lycoming, which drops to 5-7 overall and 4-4 in the conference, Saturday. With the win, Etown eclipsed its win total of five games from its inaugural season last year.

Etown took a slim 5-4 advantage into halftime. Lycoming tied the score at 7-7 early in the fourth quarter, but the Blue Jays scored the games' final two goals to seal the victory.

Bryan Miller (West Chester, PA/Henderson), Justin Griffey (Aberdeen, MD/Aberdeen) and Matt Newell (Malvern, PA/Great Valley) led the Etown offense in scoring with two goals apiece. Brian Ginter (Newtown Square, PA/Marple Newtown) added one goal and two assists to the Blue Jays' efforts, and Mike Dunn (Upper Darby, PA/Monsignor Bonner) notched a goal and an assist. Chris Swierczek (Media, PA/Penncrest) made 13 saves in the Etown net.

Elizabethtown will return to action at home Tuesday, April 22 at home against MAC rival Susquehanna in a 4:00 p.m. game.
