Virginia Wesleyan Defeats Etown 11-2 at Duke University

DURHAM, N.C. --- Elizabethtown scored the first goal of the game, but managed only one more later as Etown fell 11-2 to Virginia Wesleyan at Koskinen Stadium on the campus of Duke University Wednesday evening.

Despite the score, the teams' shot totals were comprable. Etown (0-2) scored the opening goal in the game's first minute, and Virginia Wesleyan (3-1) scored three goals in the rest of the first quarter. Virginia Wesleyan added five goals in the second quarter to go up 8-1 at halftime. Etown scored the third quarter's only goal to cut the gap to 8-2, but Virginia Wesleyan scored three more times in the fourth quarter.

No other details are available at the present time.

Elizabethtown will return to action Saturday, March 11 at noon in a non-conference game against Franklin & Marshall that will be held at St. Paul's School in Baltimore, Md.
