Franklin & Marshall Defeats Elizabethtown 8-3 in Baltimore

BALTIMORE, Md. --- Playing at St. Paul’s School in Baltimore, Md. Saturday, Franklin & Marshall defeated Elizabethtown 8-3 in a non-conference game. Etown drops to 0-3 overall with the loss, while F&M improves to 2-1 overall with the win.

Despite the score, Elizabethtown out-shot F&M 38-28 and held the edge in ground balls, 37-34, over the course of the game. F&M scored twice in the first quarter and took a 5-0 lead by halftime. Elizabethtown out-scored F&M 2-1 in the third quarter, and F&M scored two goals in the fourth quarter against one for Etown.

Frankie Puzzangara (Wallingford, PA/Strath Haven) scored two goals for Etown, and Brad Whitcomb (Taneytown, MD/Francis Scott Key) scored one goal. Jeff Cowan (Drexel Hill, PA/Upper Darby) had one assist for the Blue Jays.

In the Etown goal, Chris Schuch (Columbia, PA/Hempfield) made 16 saves.
