Widener Defeats Etown 13-4 in MAC Opener

CHESTER, Pa. --- Elizabethtown fell 13-4 on the road to Widener University Saturday in the Blue Jays’ Middle Atlantic Conference opener. The loss drops Etown to 0-4 overall and 0-1 in the MAC, while Widener improves to 2-3 overall and 1-0 in the MAC.

Widener held an 8-2 lead by halftime and outscored Elizabethtown 5-2 in the second half. Frankie Puzzangara (Wallingford, PA/Strath Haven), Jeff Cowan (Drexel Hill, PA/Upper Darby), Matt Seiboth (Havertown, PA/Haverford) and Eric Peifer (Lancaster, PA/Hempfield) each scored one of Elizabethtown’s four goals.

Elizabethtown will return to action Wednesday, March 22 at Swarthmore in a 7:00 p.m. game.
