ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE MEN'S LACROSSE Etown Gets First Win of Season, Defeats MAC Rival King’s 10-9 WILKES-BARRE, Pa. --- Elizabethtown picked up its first win of the season in a 10-9 road victory over Middle Atlantic Conference rival King’s College (Pa.) Wednesday. The win improves Etown’s record to 1-6 overall and 1-1 in the MAC, while King’s drops to 2-4 overall and 1-2 in the MAC with the loss. Elizabethtown out-shot King’s 35-20 over the course of the game, but King’s held a 36-30 advantage in ground balls. The Blue Jays held a 5-4 lead at halftime, but King’s led 8-7 at the end of the third quarter. Etown rattled off three goals in less than two minutes early in the fourth quarter to go up 10-8, and King’s scored its last goal with 2:45 left in the game. Frankie Puzzangara (Wallingford, PA/Strath Haven) scored five goals to lead the Blue Jay offense, and Matt Seiboth (Havertown, PA/Haverford) led Etown in assists with two. Chris Harrison (Newark, DE/Salesianum) scored twice for Etown and had one assist, and Jeff Cowan (Drexel Hill, PA/Upper Darby), Brad Whitcomb (Taneytown, MD/Francis Scott Key) and Tom Welch (West Chester, PA/West Chester East) each scored one goal for the Blue Jays. Reid Allison (Ridgefield, CT/Ridgefield) had one assist as well for Etown. T.J. Lyon led King’s in scoring with five goals, and Chris Landry scored one goal and had three assists for the Monarchs. Etown will return to action at home Saturday, April 1 against MAC rival Drew University in a 1:00 p.m. game. At Elizabethtown, Pa.
