Elizabethtown Defeats MAC Opponent Susquehanna, 9-5

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown defeated Middle Atlantic Conference rival Susquehanna University 9-5 on the road Wednesday. The Blue Jays improved to 3-9 overall and 3-4 in the MAC with the win, while Susquehanna dropped to 7-5 overall and 5-2 in the conference with the loss. Elizabethtown led 3-2 at the end of the first quarter, 4-2 at halftime, and 7-5 at the end of the third quarter.

Etown out-shot Susquehanna 38-31, and the Blue Jays held a 41-38 advantage in ground balls. Elizabethtown won 13 out of 16 face-offs in the game.

Frankie Puzzangara (Wallingford, PA/Strath Haven) led Elizabethtown in goals with three and in ground balls with 12, and he won 12 out of 15 face-offs he took. Andrew Wagner (Bel Air, MD/C. Milton Wright) and Jeff Cowan (Drexel Hill, PA/Upper Darby) each scored two goals for the Blue Jays. Chris Harrison (Newark, DE/Salesianum) scored one goal and had one assist, and Mike Ruby (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) scored one goal. Matt Seiboth (Havertown, PA/Haverford) and Reid Allison (Ridgefield, CT/Ridgefield) each had one assist for Etown. Goalie Chris Schuch (Columbia, PA/Hempfield) made 12 saves and had six ground balls for the Blue Jays.

Mike Tozzi and B.J. Allen each scored one goal and had one assist for Susquehanna, while Ryan Walters, Tim Storck and Greg Norris each scored one goal. Susquehanna goaltender Kirk Ryan made 13 saves.

Elizabethtown will return to action Saturday, April 22 at home against MAC rival DeSales University in a 1:00 p.m. game.
