Elizabethtown Defeats Immaculata 12-5

IMMACULATA, Pa. --- Elizabethtown improved to a best-ever mark of 6-1 overall with a 12-5 non-conference road victory over Immaculata University Saturday. Elizabethtown out-shot Immaculata, which dropped to 0-5 overall with the loss, 56-12, and the Blue Jays held a 29-16 edge in ground balls.

Keith Staulters (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Spa) led Elizabethtown in goals with five, and Frankie Puzzangara (Wallingford, PA/Strath Haven) scored three goals, tallied two ground balls and won 12 out of 14 face-offs. Aaron Weber (Lititz, PA/Manheim Township) had one goal, five assists and six ground balls for Etown, and Andrew Wagner (Bel Air, MD/C. Milton Wright) scored a pair of goals. Gary Senese (Leonardtown, MD/Tatnall School, DE) scored one goal, Jeff Long (West Chester, PA/Henderson) had two assists, and Josh Dougherty (Ocean City, MD/Worcester Prep.) had one assist for Etown. John Day (Thornton, PA/Bishop Shanahan) won five out of seven face-offs and scooped up four ground balls for the Blue Jays.

Tim Hartney and Geoff Lorentz led Immaculata in scoring with two goals apiece, and Hartney had one assist. Shelton Brown scored one goal, and Anthony Cucchi had one assist for Immaculata. Mighty Mac goaltender Andrew Sim made 23 saves.

Elizabethtown will return to action on the road Thursday, April 5 at Messiah College in a 4:00 p.m. Middle Atlantic Conference game.
