ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE MEN'S LACROSSE Blue Jays Bounced by Denison, 23-6 GRANVILLE, Ohio --- Brady Burton netted seven goals to lead Denison University to a 23-6 victory over Elizabethtown College in non-conference men's lacrosse action on Sunday afternoon. Dan Maude added four goals for the Big Red (2-0 overall) while Rick Mackessy dished out five assists, as Denison scored 12 straight goals from the end of the first quarter to late in the third quarter to claim the win over the Blue Jays (0-1 overall). Sophomore Aaron Weber (Lititz, PA/Manheim Township) led Elizabethtown with four goals while first-year student Brian Schaaf (West Chester, PA/West Chester East) and sophomore Phil Robinson (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown West) each added goals for the Blue Jays. Denison led 8-3 after one quarter and tallied all seven goals in the second quarter to take a 15-3 lead to halftime. The Big Red finished with a 52-24 edge in shots and collected 44 ground balls to 25 by the Blue Jays. The Big Red went 4-for-5 with the man advantage, while the Blue Jays converted one out of three man-up opportunities. Junior Dan Hinder (Bel Air, MD/John Carroll School) and sophomore Jon Day (Thornton, PA/Bishop Shanahan) shared the team lead with four ground balls for the Blue Jays. Senior Chris Schuch (Columbia, PA/Hempfield) played the first three quarters in goal for the Blue Jays and made 11 saves, with junior Austin Hayes (Elizabethtown, PA/Elizabethtown) making one save in the fourth quarter.
