ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE MEN'S LACROSSE Elizabethtown Falls to #8 Washington College, 17-5 CHESTERTOWN, Md. --- Kolyn Kirby scored five goals and added four assists while Jimmy Kielek netted four goals an an assist as eighth-ranked Washington College defeated Elizabethtown College 17-5 in non-conference men's lacrosse action on Thursday night. Four players scored two goals apiece for the Shoremen (5-0 overall), who led 6-0 after one quarter and 11-1 at halftime, while finishing with a 57-23 edge in shots over the Blue Jays (2-2 overall). Sophomore Josh Dougherty (Ocean City, MD/Worcester Academy) led Elizabethtown with three goals, while sophomore Jon Day (Thornton, PA/Bishop Shanahan) and first-year student Greg Kenneally (Lutherville, MD/Loyola Blakefield) added a goal apiece for the Blue Jays. First-year student Kurt Deschner (Kelowna, BC/Kelowna Secondary) had two assists for the Blue Jays, while sophomore Aaron Weber (Lititz, PA/Manheim Township) added one assist as the Blue Jays scored four of the game's final six goals. Day led the Blue Jays with six ground balls, and Thayer Damm paced the Shoremen with 10 ground balls while winning 12-of-17 faceoffs in the match. Junior Austin Hayes (Elizabethtown, PA/Elizabethtown) made 10 saves in 25 minutes of relief in goal for Elizabethtown, after senior Chris Schuch (Columbia, PA/Hempfield) finished with one save in 11 minutes. First-year student Hunter Malick (Center Valley, PA/Moravian Academy) played the final 24 minutes between the Blue Jay pipes and made six stops.
