ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE MEN'S LACROSSE Widener Downs Elizabethtown 15-4 CHESTER, Pa. --- Clint Quedenfield was among five Widener University players to score two goals apiece as the Pride defeated Elizabethtown College 15-4 in Middle Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon. Quedenfeld added three assists while Luke Weber and Cory Malampy each tallied two goals and two assists for the Pride (5-5 overall, 2-0 MAC), who led 8-1 at halftime and finished with a 46-25 edge in shots over the Blue Jays (2-7 overall, 0-2 MAC). Sophomore Jon Day (Thornton, PA/Bishop Shanahan) scored two goals for Elizabethtown, while sophomore Aaron Weber (Lititz, PA/Manheim Township) matched brother Luke's output for Widener with two goals as well. Widener led 3-0 before the Blue Jays got on the board with 6:13 left in the first half on a man-up goal by Day. The Pride went on to score the final three goals of the first quarter and both goals of the second quarter to lead 8-1 at intermission. The Blue Jays trailed 10-3 after a goal by Weber with 5:45 left in the third quarter, but Luke Weber tallied twice to start a 5-0 Pride run that gave Widener a 15-3 lead with 2:37 to go. Also scoring twice apiece for Widener were Brian Stromko and Andrew Janusz, while five other players scored one goal apiece for the Pride. First-year student Hunter Malick (Center Valley, PA/Moravian Academy) played the first three quarters for the Blue Jays and made 11 saves, while senior Chris Schuch (Columbia, PA/Hempfield) played the fourth quarter and made two stops.
