Etown Falls in Triple Overtime to FDU, 10-9

MADISON, N.J. --- Jordan Levitz scored with 1:04 remaining in triple overtime to give FDU-Florham a hard-fought 10-9 victory over Elizabethtown College in Middle Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon.

Levitz's goal ended the longest game in Blue Jay program history, as the teams played nearly 11 minutes of overtime before settling the result.

Junior Ryan McCafferty (Orlando, FL/Boone) led the Blue Jays (4-8 overall, 2-3 MAC) with four goals while sophomore Aaron Weber (Lititz, PA/Manheim Township) posted two goals and three assists for Elizabethtown, which forced the overtime on a goal by McCafferty with 8:13 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Scott Shadiack led the Devils (3-8 overall, 3-2 MAC) with four goals and an assist, including a pair of fourth-quarter tallies that gave FDU a short-lived 9-8 lead with 8:54 remaining.

Sophomore Jon Day (Thornton, PA/Bishop Shanahan), sophomore Keith Staulters (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Spa) and first-year student Kurt Deschner (Kelowna, BC/Kelowna Secondary) also scored goals for the Blue Jays.

Senior Gary Senese (Leonardtown, MD/Tatnall School, DE) led the Blue Jay defense with seven ground balls.

Senior Chris Schuch (Columbia, PA/Hempfield) entered in relief in the first quarter for the Blue Jays and made 15 saves in goal, while Evan Mager tallied 11 stops for the Devils.
