About the Men's Lacrosse Program With the Blue Jays reaching the semifinals of the Middle Atlantic Conference playoffs in four of the last five seasons, it can be hard to believe that Elizabethtown's men's lacrosse program has only been around for seven seasons. The Blue Jays have taken a fast track to success, and they look to rise higher under head coach Terry Corcoran, who took over as head coach in 2006, and who has twice been named the USILA National Coach of the Year for NCAA Division III. In 2006, Elizabethtown entered the season having lost its first graduating class of 16 seniors at the end of 2005. Despite a smaller and less experienced roster than in previous years, the Blue Jays clinched another MAC playoff berth and won their first-round postseason game. Midfielder Frankie Puzzangara '07 was named the MAC Player of the Year at the conclusion of the season, and he and defender Frank Cacia '07 and long-stick midfielder Gary Senese '08 were named to the All-MAC team. In 2007, the Blue Jays took another step forward, setting a season record for wins with 10 and achieving their highest finish -- second place -- in the MAC regular season standings. The Blue Jays also earned the right to host a MAC playoff semifinal round game for the first time. After the season, Puzzangara was named the first All-American in the history of the program and repeated as the MAC Player of the Year, while five players: Puzzangara, Cacia, Senese, Eric Peifer '08 and Aaron Weber '10, were named to the All-MAC team. Success has come in the classroom as well for Elizabethtown, as Matt Seiboth '06 was named the Middle Atlantic States Collegiate Athletic Corporation Scholar-Athlete for men's lacrosse in 2006.
