ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE MEN'S SOCCER ETOWN, MESSIAH PLAY TO FIRST DRAW OF THE DECADE Elizabethtown, Pa. -- Mike Shalhoub scored on a header with under 14 minutes left in regulation to give Messiah a 1-1 tie with Elizabethtown in MAC Commonwealth League action on Saturday. It was the first time the archrivals had tied in their 13 meetings in the '90's and only the second tie in the all-time series, which Etown leads 14-9-2. Etown's Wyeth Raws had given the Blue Jays a 1-0 lead only 2:32 earlier by scoring his third goal of the season off a pass from Chris Helsel. Less than three minutes later, however, Messiah forward Jason Webb beat a number of Blue Jay defenders one-on-one before sending the cross that Shalhoub put in the net for the tying goal, his fourth of the season. Doug Timm made 15 saves in net for Etown to preserve the tie. Messiah's Jeremy Kirchner made 12 saves. The Falcons (13-1-3) entered the contest ranked first in the Mid-Atlantic Region and seventh in the nation. The Blue Jays (11-5-1) entered the contest ranked fifth in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Both teams are now tied in the Commonwealth League at 5-0-1 with one game remaining.
