ETOWN RUNS WINNING STREAK TO NINE GAMES WITH 10-1 VICTORY OVER SUSQUEHANNAELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown reeled off seven first-half goals en route to a 10-1 victory over Susquehanna in MAC Commonwealth League action on Wednesday. With the win, the Blue Jays improved to 10-3 overall and 4-0 in the league. Joe Franc led the Etown offense with a goal and three assists while Chris Helsel scored twice and added an assist for the Blue Jays, who won for the ninth straight game. Jon Khanlian tallied the first two goals of his collegiate career in the win. Jason Yearicks broke the shutout with a goal in the 33rd minute for the Crusaders (4-8, 1-2). Also getting in on the offense for Etown were Chas Vennie, who scored his first goal since the 1996 season, and Adam Dively, who scored a goal and added an assist in the win. Mark Merrill also collected a goal and an assist for the Blue Jays. The 10-goal effort marked the first time that Etown had reached double digits in scoring since a 10-0 win over Lebanon Valley on September 21, 1995. The Blue Jays ran their all-time record against the Crusaders to 38-0-1 dating back to 1960. Etown returns to action on Sunday, October
11 at the College of New Jersey. Game time is 1 p.m.
