OVERTIME GOAL LIFTS DREW OVER ETOWN, 2-1, IN MAC SEMIFINALS; JAYS' NCAA HOPES IN JEOPARDY

MADISON, N.J. --- Kevin Shevchenko scored 30 seconds into the first overtime to give Drew a 2-1 victory over Elizabethtown in their Middle Atlantic Conference semifinal match on Wednesday.

The loss prevents the Blue Jays (14-6) from reaching the MAC championship game for the first time since 1992 and also jeopardizes Etown's chances of earning a bid to the NCAA tournament.  The 40-team NCAA field will be announced on Sunday, November 8.

With their first victory over Etown since 1983 in the bag, the Rangers will host Messiah College in the MAC championship match on Saturday, November 7.  The Falcons stopped Scranton, 6-0, in the MAC's other semifinal match.

With Etown trailing 1-0, Adam Dively scored off an assist from Chris Helsel to knot the game at one and force the extra periods.

Leading scorer Marvin Lopez had put Drew on top with a goal at the 29:14 mark.  Patrick O'Reilly set up both Ranger goals.

Andy Napoli made ten saves to earn the win for Drew (15-2-3).  Doug Timm made six saves in the nets for Etown, which lost an MAC semifinal match for the first time since 1985.  The loss also insures that the Blue Jays will go two years without a conference title for the
