ETOWN CRUSHES WESLEY, 10-0

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown celebrated its Homecoming in grand fashion Saturday by dismantling Wesley, 10-0, and running up its record to 10-0-1 for 1999 before a packed and rambunctious home crowd.  The game was also Etown head coach Skip Roderick's 295th career victory.  The Blue Jays outshot their opponents 23-1 on the day.

Jamie Cook (Havertown, PA/Haverford School) and Bryan Hoy (Beaver Springs, PA/West Snyder) both scored two goals in the massacre.  Hoy and Wyeth Raws (Malvern, PA/West Chester East) chalked up a pair of assists, while Ric Petrosky (Manheim, PA/Manheim Central) and Joe Franc (Lawrenceville, NJ/Lawrence) each had a goal and an assist.

Sophomore Brent Detamore (Wescosville, PA/Emmaus) scored his first collegiate goal, and freshman Brad Kleinert (Ephrata, PA/Ephrata) notched his first career assist and point.

Of the three Blue Jay goaltenders who saw playing time, only Nick Hostetter (Annville, PA/Annville-Cleona) needed to make a save.

During halftime, Elizabethtown honored the individuals and teams inducted into the Ira R. Herr Athletic Hall of Fame Friday night.  The inductees included Paul Cuttic, class of 1976, a basketball and baseball player, Amy Hyde Esposito, class of 1993, a soccer player, the 1988-89 NCAA Division III National Champion women's basketball team, and the 1989 NCAA Division III National Champion men's soccer team.

The Blue Jays have a week off before they play their next game, at home, against the College of New Jersey Saturday, October 9.  Game time is 2:30 p.m.
