ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE MEN'S SOCCER
NATION'S THIRD LONGEST UNBEATEN STREAK CONTINUES AS ETOWN DEFEATS COLLEGE OF NEW JERSEY, 1-0 ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown extended its unbeaten streak, the third-longest current streak in the nation, to twelve games with a 1-0 victory over the College of New Jersey Saturday. The Blue Jays (11-0-1) demonstrated why they have the third-ranked defense in the country as they picked up their ninth shutout victory of the season and held the Lions to only four shots on goal. The only goal of the game was scored early by Joe Franc (Lawrenceville, NJ/Lawrence) at 14:15 into the first half on an assist from Wyeth Raws (Malvern, PA/West Chester East). Raws, who is sixth in the nation in assists, picked up his tenth of the season. Elizabethtown goaltender Doug Timm (Wilmington, DE/McKean) registered his seventh shutout of the season, while his paltry goals against average shrank even further to 0.28. Timm, whose GAA is the fourth-best in the nation, made four saves on the day. The Blue Jays are currently ranked sixth in the nation and first in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Elizabethtown head coach Skip Roderick is now only four wins away from his 300th career victory. The team will try to win number 297 and stretch its unbeaten streak to 13 on Tuesday, October 12 on the road against Dickinson. Game time is 4:00 p.m. at Elizabethtown, Pa.
