ETOWN DEFEATS DREW, 3-2, IN MAC SEMIFINALS

MADISON, N.J. --- With its season on the line, Elizabethtown staged a dramatic, come-from-behind, 3-2 victory over Drew Wednesday in the Middle Atlantic Conference semifinals.

Drew took a 1-0 lead in the first half and scored again seven minutes into the second half to build an imposing 2-0 lead.

Undaunted, the Blue Jays began to chip away at Drew's lead, as Joe Franc (Lawrenceville, NJ/Lawrence) scored with 35:44 remaining. Wyeth Raws (Malvern, PA/West Chester East) evened the score at 21:25. Franc struck again on an assist from Raws with only 1:50 remaining to play in regulation time to avoid overtime and clinch the victory.

On the other side of the MAC playoffs, Lycoming upset Messiah, precipitating a second-seed matchup between Elizabethtown and Lycoming for the 1999 MAC crown Saturday.
