GRANTHAM, Pa. --- Elizabethtown finished its season with
an 18-2-1 record Friday with a 3-0 loss to Messiah in the opener of
the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional at Messiah.
The game was scoreless through the first period of play, until Aaron
Faro scored the Falcons' first goal 1:37 into the second half. Messiah
added two more goals in the final six minutes of the game. Faro headed
in a ball at 84:08, and Jake Sauer scored on a penalty kick with a minute
and a half remaining.
Both of the Blue Jays' losses in 1999 came at the hands of Messiah,
which outshot Etown 12-5 in the game. The 3-0 loss marked only time
this season Elizabethtown was shut out and the most goals the team allowed
in a game all year.
