Wednesday, September 20, 2000 ETOWN COMES BACK TO DEFEAT LEBANON VALLEY, 4-3, IN OVERTIME ANNVILLE, Pa. --- Elizabethtown improved to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in the Commonwealth Conference with a 4-3 overtime win at Lebanon Valley Wednesday. Lebanon Valley (2-5 overall, 1-2 Commonwealth) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first 26 minutes on goals from Steve Fisher (Hershey, PA/Hershey) and Grant Walter (Selinsgrove, PA/Selinsgrove) and held Etown scoreless throughout the first half. The Blue Jays mounted their comeback in the second half with a goal by Steve Custer (Baltimore, MD/Dundalk) and a pair of goals from Charlie Haines (Hamilton, NJ/Hun School of Princeton) to take a 3-2 lead. Lebanon Valley struck back with a goal by Nathan Acker (West Willow, PA/Penn Manor) late in the second half to send the game into overtime. Elizabethtown scored the winning goal in the 93rd minute when Kyle Kooper (Mohnton, PA/Governor Mifflin) headed in a corner kick by Custer. Etown returns to action at home against Scranton Saturday, September 23. Game time is 2:00 p.m. at Annville, Pa. Scoring: |
