ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- The Elizabethtown men's soccer team improved to 6-1 overall this season with a 5-2 home victory over Scranton Saturday.
Wyeth Raws (Malvern, PA/West Chester East) contributed to four of Elizabethtown's five goals, scoring the first two goals of the game and assisting two more. Tim Oswald (Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge) scored the Blue Jays' final two goals, both on assists from Raws.
Etown jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead on Raws' goals, the first assisted by Oswald and the second assisted by Jamie Cook (Havertown, PA/The Haverford School). Cook scored the third goal of the half on an assist from Ryan Wattenschaidt (Jarrettsville, MD/North Harford).
Scranton (3-2-1) scored both its goals after the Blue Jays built up a 5-0 lead. Both were scored by Eric Kunzinger (Smithtown, NY/St. Anthony's) and assisted by Jeremy Basedow (Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central). The first came with 4:18 remaining in the game and the second was scored with only 35 seconds left.
Elizabethtown returns to action at home Wednesday, September 27 against Albright. Game time is 4:00 p.m.
