Etown Blanks Juniata, 3-0, Blue Jays Above .500 for First Time in 2001

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- With a 3-0 home whitewash of Juniata Wednesday, Elizabethtown improved to 5-4 overall and 2-0 in the Commonwealth Conference in 2002. The win propels Etown to above .500 for the first time in 2001. This year, Elizabethtown is trying to finish at .500 or better for the 50th consecutive season.

Etown goaltender Michael Ciattei (Baltimore, MD/St Paul's School) picked is first shutout and victory of his collegiate career, as the Blue Jays outshot Juniata 24-1. Keeper Chris Zimmerman (Johnstown, PA/Westmont Hilltop) made 18 saves for Juniata (1-6-2, 0-3).

Ryan Wattenschaidt (Jarrettsville, MD/North Harford) scored Etown's first goal at 19:11, and the Blue Jays took the 1-0 lead into halftime.

J.T. Liss (Bayville, NJ/Central Regional) scored on an assist from Charlie Haines (Hamilton, NJ/Hun School of Princeton) at 68:39 to give Etown a 2-0 lead. Brian Albrecht (Baltimore, MD/Patapasco) scored the game's final goal at 70:52 on an assist from Bryan Noll (Fleetwood, PA/Oley Valley).

Elizabethtown returns to action at home against Lebanon Valley Saturday, September 29 at 7:00 p.m.
