Etown Downs York, 3-1, on Homecoming

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown improved to 10-2-3 overall with a 3-1 win during the College's Homecoming against York Saturday evening. York drops to 7-7-2 with the loss.

Chase Franklin (Phoenix, MD/Loyola Blakefield) put Elizabethtown on the scoreboard first with a goal at 30:47 on a penalty kick. The assist was given to Andrew Kummerer (Glenmoore, PA/Coatesville), who was fouled in the box. Kummerer assisted Elizabethtown's second goal as well, scored by Charlie Haines (Hamilton, NJ/Hun School of Princeton), who put Etown up 2-0 at 37:11.

York struck back with a goal by Mike Mannion (Bel Air, MD/Fallston), who scored at 39:18. However, just 41 seconds later Etown freshman Zach Eddinger (Middletown, CT/Middletown) scored the first goal of his collegiate career on a long shot to send the Blue Jays ahead 3-1.

Michael Ciattei (Jarrettsville, MD/St. Paul's School-Baltimore) made five saves in the Etown goal. Elizabethtown out-shot York 16-9.

Etown will return to action Tuesday, October 22 at home against Moravian in a 7:00 p.m. Commonwealth Conference game.
