Fifth-Ranked Etown Blasts Albright, 5-0, For 11th Win of 2003
READING, Pa. --- Fifth-ranked Elizabethtown upended Commonwealth Conference rival Albright, 5-0, on the road Wednesday to improve to 11-1-1 overall and 2-0-1 in the conference. Albright dropped to 5-8 overall and 0-3 in the conference with the loss.
Brian Albrecht (Baltimore, MD/Patapsco) gave Etown its first goal off an assist by Kevin Weiler (Clive, IA/Valley) at 18:31. Charlie Haines (Hamilton, NJ/Hun School of Princeton) put Etown up 2-0 at 29:18, scoring off assists by Albrecht and Steve Custer (Baltimore, MD/Dundalk).
Albrecht scored again at 71:20, giving Etown a 3-0 lead, off assists by Haines and Brian Healy (Newark, DE/A.I. DuPont). Brian Zalasky (Milford, PA/Delaware Valley) scored at 79:03 to give Etown a 4-0 lead, and Bryan Noll (Fleetwood, PA/Oley Valley) and Andrew Kummerer (Glenmoore, PA/Coatesville) assisted. Etown's final goal of the day was the first of first-year James Runyon's (Hopatcong, NJ/Hopatcong) collegiate career. Runyon scored at 87:42 and was assisted by Will Ellerman (Silver Spring, MD/James Hubert Blake).
Michael Ciattei (Jarrettsville, MD/St. Paul's School-Baltimore) made two saves in the Etown net to preserve the shutout.
Etown will return to action at home Saturday, October 18 at home against conference opponent Widener in its Homecoming game at 4:30 p.m.
