ELIZABETHTOWN COLLEGE MEN'S SOCCER Wednesday, October 17, 2007 Two Late Goals Boost Lycoming to 2-1 Victory over Elizabethtown in Commonwealth Conference Action WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. --- Zach Tanner and Joe Pusateri scored goals less than three minutes apart late in the second half to give Lycoming College a 2-1 victory over Elizabethtown College in Commonwealth Conference men's soccer action on Wednesday afternoon. Trailing 1-0, Tanner tied the game with 13:44 left and Pusateri followed with the game-winner with 10:55 to go as the Warriors (11-3-1 overall, 1-1 Commonwealth) defeated the Blue Jays (11-4-0 overall, 2-1 Commonwealth) for the second straight year.
Elizabethtown took a 1-0 lead just 6:38 into the match when junior Matt Diller (Chambersburg, PA/Mercersburg Academy) scored his ninth goal of the season off an assist by first-year student Andrew Filewicz (Wenonah, NJ/Northeast Catholic). After Tanner knotted the match, Pusateri notched the game-winner off an assist by Matt Frey to give the Warriors their third straight win. Elizabethtown finished with a 15-10 edge in shots over Lycoming, while each team took four corner kicks in the contest. Junior Jeff Mullen (Horsham, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) made two saves in goal for Elizabethtown while Ryan Humphreys tallied two stops for Lycoming.
