King’s Defeats Etown 5-2

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown fell 5-2 to King’s (Pa.) in a non-conference match at home Monday. The Blue Jays’ record now stands at 1-7 overall, while King’s improves to 2-6 with the win.

King’s began the match by winning two out of three doubles matches to claim the doubles point. Winning for Etown was the number two doubles pair of Jeff Kirkhoff (Duncannon, PA) and Zach Atkinson (Willow Street, PA) by an 8-2 score.

The same two also won singles matches for Etown. At number three, Kirkhoff won the first set 6-2, and his opponent retired in the second set. Atkinson posted a 6-3, 6-3 win at number four singles for Etown.

The Blue Jays will return to action on the road Thursday, March 30 in a 3:30 p.m. road match at Dickinson College.
