Elizabethtown Hosts Blue Jay Invitational; Brok Walker Wins Bracket

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown hosted Lebanon Valley, Dickinson, FDU-Florham, and Wilkes in the unscored Blue Jay Invitational Saturday and Sunday. Elizabethtown first-year student Brok Walker (Red Lion, PA) won the singles B Flight bracket for the Blue Jays.

After a first-round bye, Walker won his first match 6-0, 6-1 and won 7-5, 6-3 in the semifinal round. He won the final by a 6-2, 6-2 score.

Also winning single matches for the Blue Jays were first-year student Ryan Knarr (Robesonia, PA), 6-0, 6-1 in the singles A Flight, first-year student Mike Steiner (Greensburg, PA) 6-4, 6-4 in the singles C Flight, and sophomore Jeff Kirkhoff (Duncannon, PA) 6-1, 6-1 in the singles C Flight as well.

The Etown doubles team of Maarten Albers (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) and Kirkhoff posted an 8-0 win in their opening round match.

Elizabethtown will return to action in the spring 2007 season.
