Messiah Clinches Top Seed With 8-1 Win over Etown

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Messiah College clinched the top seed in next weekend's Commonwealth Conference men's tennis playoffs with an 8-1 win at Elizabethtown College on Friday afternoon.

The Blue Jays (5-5 overall, 3-1 Commonwealth) earned their lone victory at second doubles as sophomore Brok Walker (Red Lion, PA/Red Lion) and first-year student Bryan Metz (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) won 8-4 over Sam Shorts and William Tanis.

Elizabethtown will face Lebanon Valley College in a semifinal match next Saturday at the Hempfield Sports Complex, with the winner to play Messiah on Sunday, April 20 for the conference title and an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III playoffs.
