CHESTER, Pa. --- Elizabethtown picked up its third Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth win of the season with a 6-1 trouncing of Widener on the road Wednesday. Etown is now 7-3 overall and 3-2 in the MAC Commonwealth.
Peter Nguyen (Lebanon, PA/Annville-Cleona) won the first singles match of his collegiate career with a shutout 6-0, 6-0 victory at number six. Also winning singles matches for Etown included Bill Miller (Ridley, PA/Sun Valley), 6-2, 6-1 at number two, Brian Holton (Mohnton, PA/Governor Mifflin), 6-3, 6-2 at number three, Kevin Holton (Mohnton, PA/Governor Mifflin), 6-2, 6-1 at number four and Justin Fisher (Mohnton, PA/Holy Name), 6-0, 6-1.
Miller and Brian Holton also won 8-0 at number two doubles, and Kevin Holton and Brandon Yorty (Akron, PA/Ephrata) won 8-0 at number three doubles.
Elizabethtown returns to action Thursday, April 13 at home in the conclusion of a match against Western Maryland begun March 27 and halted due to rain. The match resumes at 3:30 p.m.
