BILL MILLER REACHES QUARTERFINALS OF MAC INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. --- Highlighting several strong Elizabethtown performances at the Middle Atlantic Conference men's tennis individual championships was Bill Miller's (Ridley, PA/Sun Valley) advancement to the quarterfinal round of the singles championships.

Following a first round bye, Miller defeated Matt Curtolo of DeSales University, 6-1, 6-1, to advance to the quarterfinals, where he fell to David Kurvink of Moravian, 6-1, 6-3.

In doubles action, Etown's Brian Holton (Mohnton, PA/Governor Mifflin) and Willem Huiskes (Nÿmegen, Gelderland, The Netherlands/NSG) defeated their first round opponents 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 (7-4) before losing in the second round. The Etown doubles team of Gurt Singh (Huntingdon Valley, PA/William Penn Charter School) and Matt Lawless (Windber, PA/Windber) won its first match as well, 6-2, 4-6, 6-1, before falling in the second round.
