Blue Jays Defeat League Rival Messiah, 6-1

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- With a 6-1 win over Messiah at home Wednesday, Elizabethtown improved to 6-9 overall and 3-2 in the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth League.

Elizabethtown won the top four singles matches and captured number six singles as well. The Blue Jays also took the top two of the three doubles matches.
At number one singles, Bill Miller (Ridley Park, PA/Sun Valley), won 6-1, 6-2. Greg Voshell (Chester Heights, PA/Garnet Valley) won 7-5, 6-3 at number two, and Brian Holton (Mohnton, PA/Governor Mifflin) won 6-3, 1-6, 6-1 at number three singles.

Sude Dhillon (Yardley, PA/George School) won 6-2, 6-2 for Elizabethtown at number four, and Chris Mardekian (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) won at number six, 6-2, 6-2.

In doubles matches, Miller and Dhillon teamed up for an 8-2 win at number one, while Voshell and Holton won 8-1 at number two.

Etown returns to action Friday, April 12 at home against Wilkes in the make-up of a previously rained out match. Start time is 3:30 p.m.
