Etown Defeats Wilkes, 6-1

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- Elizabethtown defeated Wilkes, 6-1, in a non-league match Friday to improve to 7-9 overall. The Blue Jays are also now 7-2 in their last nine matches.

At number one singles, Etown's Bill Miller (Ridley Park, PA/Sun Valley) handed Wilkes' Hassan Shah his first defeat of his collegiate career. Shah drops to 7-1 overall this season with the 6-4, 7-5 loss. Brian Holton (Mohnton, PA/Governor Mifflin) took a 6-3, 6-0 win at number three, Sude Dhillon (Yardley, PA/George School) won 7-5, 7-6 (2) at number four, Andy Borzok (Wellsboro, PA/Wellsboro) won 6-3, 6-1 at number five, and Chris Mardekian (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) won 7-5, 6-2 at number six singles for Etown.

Also, Borzok and Mardekian paired up for an 8-1 win at number three doubles, and Miller and Dhillon won 8-5 at number one doubles.

Etown returns to action on the road against Juniata Saturday, April 13 for a 1:00 p.m. match.
