Elizabethtown College Men's Tennis Albright Defeats Etown 5-2, Miller and Dekker Improve to 18-4 Overall ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- In just its second Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth League match of a season that is supposed to end by the middle of next week, Elizabethtown fell to Albright in a close 5-2 match. The Blue Jays dropped to 8-3 overall and 1-1 in the league with the loss. Josh Miller (Indiana, PA/Indiana) won a hard-fought 7-5, 7-6 (9-7) match at number four singles for Etown, and Maurits Dekker (The Hague, The Netherlands/Vrizjinnig Christelijk Lyceum) won 6-3, 6-2 at number five. Miller and Dekker also teamed up to win 8-3 at number three singles. Both Miller and Dekker are 10-1 in singles play and 8-3 in doubles matches this season for overall records of 18-4 in 2003. Etown narrowly missed capturing the doubles point, as the Blue Jays fell 9-8 (7-2) at number one doubles, and the team came close to capturing another point in singles as well, falling 6-3, 6-7 (5) (10-3) at number two. Etown, now scrambling along with everyone else in the MAC to get all of its league matches played by the end of the season as a result recurring weather problems, will next host Juniata tomorrow at 3:30 p.m., weather permitting.
