Etown Stuns First-Place Moravian, 4-3, Blue Jays Win 10th Match of 2003

ELIZABETHTOWN, PA --- Elizabethtown handed first place Moravian its first Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth League loss of 2003 Monday, 4-3. The win improves the Blue Jays to 10-4 overall and 3-2 in the league, while Moravian drops to 7-5 overall and 5-1 in the league.

The Blue Jays swept doubles competition to score the match's first point, as Greg Voshell (Chester Heights, PA/Garnet Valley) and Sude Dhillon (Yardley, PA/George School) won 8-4 at number one, Andy Borzok (Wellsboro, PA/Wellsboro) and Martin Ramirez (Quito, Ecuador/Americano de Quito) won 9-8 (7-5) at number two, and Josh Miller (Indiana, PA/Indiana) and Maurits Dekker (The Hague, The Netherlands/Vrizjinnig Christelijk Lyceum) won 8-1 at number three.

The back half of the singles lineup carried Etown to victory, as Miller won 6-1, 6-1 at number four, Dekker took number five 6-1, 6-1, and Antonio Oliveira (Lancaster, PA/Lancaster Country Day) won 6-1, 6-3 at number six singles.

Etown will return to action Tuesday, April 15 as the host of Widener in a 3:30 p.m. MAC Commonwealth League match.
