Etown Blows Out Widener, 7-0

ELIZABETHTOWN, PA --- In its penultimate match of the 2003 season, Elizabethtown picked up its first 7-0 win of the year, downing Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth League rival Widener at home Tuesday. The Blue Jays improve to 11-4 overall and 4-2 in the league with the win.

The Blue Jays swept the doubles matches for the second day in a row, as Greg Voshell (Chester Heights, PA/Garnet Valley) and Sude Dhillon (Yardley, PA/George School) won 8-2 at number one, Josh Miller (Indiana, PA/Indiana) and Maurits Dekker (The Hague, The Netherlands/Vrizjinnig Christelijk Lyceum) won 8-2 at number two, and Martin Ramirez (Quito, Ecuador/Americano de Quito) and Antonio Oliveira (Lancaster, PA/Lancaster Country Day) won 8-4 at number three

In singles, Voshell won at number one after going up 5-1 in the first set and his opponent retired from the match. Dhillon won 6-0, 6-1 at number two singles, and Andy Borzok (Wellsboro, PA/Wellsboro) won 7-5, 6-3 at number three. Miller took a 6-2, 6-0 win at number four, Dekker won 6-4, 6-2 at number five, and Ramirez won 6-0, 6-1 at number sx in his first collegiate singles match.

Etown will return to action in its final match of 2003 at home Wednesday, April 6 against Juniata at 3:30 p.m.
