Etown Downs Juniata, 6-1, to Finish Regular Season 12-4 Overall, 5-2 in League; Blue Jays Post Highest Win Total Since 1998

ELIZABETHTOWN, PA --- Elizabethtown wrapped up its 2003 regular season at home Wednesday with a 6-1 victory over Juniata to improve to 12-4 overall and 5-2 in the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth League. It is the Blue Jays' highest win total and best winning percentage since 1998.

Etown began the match by winning all three doubles matches to capture the doubles point. Greg Voshell (Chester Heights, PA/Garnet Valley) teamed up with Sude Dhillon (Yardley, PA/George School) to win 8-3 at number one. Josh Miller (Indiana, PA/Indiana) and Maurits Dekker (The Hague, The Netherlands/Vrizjinnig Christelijk Lyceum) won 8-5 at number two, and Martin Ramirez (Quito, Ecuador/Americano de Quito) and Antonio Oliveira (Lancaster, PA/Lancaster Country Day) won 8-1 at number three.

Voshell won a 4-6, 7-5, (10-4) comeback match at number one singles, and Dhillon won 6-1, 6-2 at number two. Miller won a 6-0, 6-1 blowout at number four singles, Dekker won 6-1, 6-3 at number five, and Ramirez won 6-3, 6-2 at number six.

The Blue Jays will return to action at the Middle Atlantic Conference Individual Singles & Doubles Championships, which are jointly hosted this year by King's College and Wilkes University, Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26.
