Etown Falls to Vassar 5-2, Defeats Eastern Mennonite 7-0 to Wrap Up Hilton Head Trip 2-2 Overall

HILTON HEAD, S.C. --- Elizabethtown College's men's tennis team fell 5-2 to Vassar College Thursday and defeated Eastern Mennonite University 7-0 Saturday to conclude its annual spring break trip to Hilton Head, S.C. with a 2-2 overall record.

At number one doubles Thursday and Friday, Greg Voshell (Chester Heights, PA/Garnet Valley) and Thomas Nyst (Apeldoorn, The Netherlands/VCL) won both matches, winning 9-7 against Vassar and 8-2 against Eastern Mennonite. This boosts the pair's record this season to 3-1, and it boosts Voshell's career doubles record at Etown to 34-20. He is now tied for second place on Etown's career doubles win list with Jeff Stauffer '80 and is one win away from the modern program record of 35, set by Joe Kramer '83.

Also Thursday, the Etown women's tennis team, playing in a non-traditional season match against Methodist College in Hilton Head, lost 6-3. The Blue Jay women's tennis team had posted a 14-0 record during the official fall 2004 season.
