Elizabethtown College Men's Tennis Greg Voshell Ties Etown Career Doubles Win Mark as Blue Jays Down Villa Julie 7-0 ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. --- In Elizabethtown's first home match of the 2005 season, the Blue Jays defeated Villa Julie College 7-0 and senior Greg Voshell (Chester Heights, PA/Garnet Valley) tied the program's career doubles win record. Voshell and first-year teammate Thomas Nyst (Apeldoorn, The Netherlands/Walter Bosch) eked out a 9-7 win at number one doubles at the start of the match to improve the pair's record to 4-1 this season. Voshell's career doubles mark now stands at 35-20, tying him for first place on Etown's record list with Joe Kramer '83, who ran up a 35-15 record in doubles from 1980 to 1983. At number two doubles, senior Josh Miller (Indiana, PA/Indiana) and first-year Pepjin Dekker (The Hague, The Netherlands/VCL) combined to win 8-0. At number one singles, Nyst won 6-0, 7-5, and fellow first-year student Yero Saponjian (Yerevan, Armenia/Oshavan) won 6-0, 6-1 at number two. Voshell scored a 6-0, 6-2 win at number three, and Miller won 6-0, 6-2 at number four. Etown, which improves to 3-2 overall with the win, will return to action in its first Commonwealth Conference match of the season Thursday, March 17 on the road against Lebanon Valley at 3:00 p.m. at Elizabethtown, Pa.
