Elizabethtown College Men's Track and Field Elizabethtown Sophomore Kevin Clark Finishes Fourth in Pole Vault at NCAA Division III Indoor Championships, Earns All-America Honors NORTHFIELD , Minn. --- Elizabethtown College sophomore Kevin Clark (Horsham, PA/Hatboro-Horsham) finished fourth in the nation in the pole vault at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by St. Olaf College, Friday afternoon. By placing in the top eight, Clark becomes the first Etown pole vaulter ever to earn All-America honors. Clark cleared a maximum height of 16’5-1/2” Friday to capture fourth place in the nation and set new personal and Elizabethtown records in the process. He cleared the 16’5-1/2” mark on his second try, which placed him higher than two other vaulters, Zach Johnson of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and Derek Zulkoski of Nebraska Wesleyan, who also cleared 16’5-1/2” but only attained the height on their third tries. Clark, who was seeded eighth entering the meet, had the highest clearance of any sophomore in the event. The NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships will continue through Friday night and Saturday, March 11. Elizabethtown also has athletes competing in the men’s 800m and in the men’s distance medley relay. Through the conclusion of the Friday afternoon and Friday evening field events, the Elizabethtown men’s team was in a four-way tie for ninth place in the team scoring with 5 points from Clark’s performance.
